Typically, dogs have a life span of 10 to 13 years.

However, there are some dog breeds that outlive their counterparts.

Generally, it is the smaller dog breeds that long way past the average life span. Larger dogs tend to grow up faster and, in some cases, develop conditions like tumors and cancer. They also tend to get age-related conditions like arthritis.
